The high school students involved are demanding more resources for national education and are denouncing the pressure of Parcoursup, the unreplaced teachers, the dilapidated buildings and the busy schedules.
Student protests continue in France, with hundreds of schools closed on Monday due to demonstrations. The CGT, one of the country's largest unions, said its members would take to the streets in support of the students.

The high school trade unions called for an "Act III" of their mobilization on Tuesday, everywhere in France, in the face of a "political wall". The intersyndicale of National Education manifests alongside them, as well as several political parties including LFI, the PS and the PCF.
With the support of professional organisations that will join high schools and students during a demonstration on Tuesday, the movement is on its way. But France's public deficit and debt deprive the government of room for manoeuvre.
