Batman’s DCU Casting Gets Huge James Gunn Update, Actor’s Age Range Revealed
- On Friday, DC Studios chief James Gunn dismissed rumors that the DCU Batman is already cast, stating, "It won't be too long before we're casting Batman."
- Gunn confirmed the new Dark Knight will be "roughly the same age" as David Corenswet's Superman, rejecting an "Old Man Bruce" approach and prioritizing acting ability over stardom.
- When actor Steve Agee asked about the character's 10-year future, Gunn agreed that casting must account for longevity and confirmed he remains open to actors from previous projects.
- The upcoming Batman movie, titled "The Brave and the Bold," will exist separately from Pattinson's hero in Reeves' series, alongside other DCU projects like Supergirl and Lanterns.
- David Corenswet's Kal-El arrived on Earth "Three decades ago," positioning Batman likely under 35 as a contemporary when "Man of Tomorrow" releases July 9.
