The Koralm Railway significantly reduced car traffic on the Southern Motorway (A2) in the first half of 2026. The decrease in the Koralm corridor was 4.6 percent, considerably higher than the Austrian average – a nationwide decrease of 0.6 percent was recorded, according to the Austrian Transport Club (VCÖ), citing data from Asfinag.
