Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced's Final Major Update Adds Long-Awaited New Game Plus, New Nightmare Difficulty and Much More
The final major update adds New Game+ and Nightmare difficulty, with Ubisoft saying smaller quality-of-life fixes may still follow.
Ubisoft released Title update 1.0.8 for Creed Black Flag Resynced on October 27, marking the final major content update with New Game Plus mode and Nightmare difficulty.
Creed Black Flag Resynced launched July 9, 2026, on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series to strong critical reception. IGN awarded it a 9/10 review, praising how it brings the series up to today's standards.
Game director Richard Knight detailed the new mode, stating it gives players "plenty of opportunities to push your skills to the limit and unlock exclusive rewards." Nightmare difficulty restricts gameplay, as "underwater breath is very limited."
Alongside these gameplay additions, the update features new takedown animations and Easter Eggs, plus cosmetic items including pet cat skins and community-inspired trinkets. Ubisoft also added new outfits and sails to the content package.
Smaller quality-of-life fixes may follow, but this update concludes major content for the game. Until then, players can continue testing their skills against the infamous Legendary Ships.
