Archaeologists have excavated intact parts of the foundation wall of the temple of the ancient Egyptian queen Hatshepsut in Luxor, as well as the nearby tomb of Queen Tethys, matriarch and grandmother of Pharaoh Amos I, the first ruler of the prosperous New Kingdom period.
