Amazon acquires Bee, the AI wearable that records everything you say
KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, JUL 22 – Amazon aims to enhance its AI portfolio with Bee's $50 wearable that continuously listens and transcribes conversations to provide personalized productivity prompts and summaries.
Amazon is set to acquire Bee, a San Francisco startup that makes an AI-enabled wristband for transcribing and summarizing daily conversations.
The acquisition follows Amazon’s ongoing efforts this year to expand its AI offerings and build on its previous wearable experiments like the now-discontinued Halo.
Bee’s $49.99 wristband uses AI to transcribe audio, generate reminders, and create to-do lists, while allowing users to mute recording and delete data anytime.
Maria de Lourdes Zollo, the CEO of Bee, shared the news on LinkedIn, expressing enthusiasm about collaborating with partners who will support expanding their innovative, personalized AI technology to a wider audience.
The deal has not yet closed, and Amazon plans to integrate Bee under Panos Panay’s group, signaling its interest in wearable AI despite ongoing privacy concerns.
