Voyageur Becomes Canadian Launch Customer for Airbus U030 Flexrotor
Voyageur Aviation will add the long-endurance Airbus U030 Flexrotor to its fleet for surveillance, search and rescue, and maritime operations.
- North Bay-based Voyageur Aviation Corp. purchased the Airbus U030 Flexrotor Uncrewed Aerial System during the Farnborough International Airshow, marking the first Flexrotor sale into Canada.
- Following a recently signed memorandum of understanding with Airbus Helicopters, Voyageur's strategic expansion into the UAS domain aims to explore future collaborative opportunities for contracted services.
- Designed for long-endurance ISR, the Flexrotor operates as a Group 2 tactical Vertical Take-off and Landing uncrewed aircraft system capable of multi-mission operations from both land and maritime environments.
- As the first Flexrotor operator in Canada, Voyageur is well positioned to introduce this technology within the realities of Canada's operating environment, according to president Cory Cousineau.
