AI-Powered Smart Trolleys Rolled Out at Preston Supermarket in UK First
The AI-powered trolleys recognise items, show running totals and loyalty savings, and are already in use in more than 100 cities, Instacart said.

- The trolleys automatically identify items and weigh fresh produce, while touchscreen displays show running basket totals and allow shoppers to scan their Morrisons More Card for loyalty savings.

- Research from Researchscape International found 54 per cent of UK consumers shop on "autopilot," while 53 per cent have skipped groceries due to budget concerns, driving adoption of budgeting-focused technology.
