AI Lost Big in the Midterms. What Does That Mean for Your Business?
The message of the “AI midterms” is that technology policy has become an electoral issue, not just a regulatory one. This is an essential element of any business’s strategy. But standing alone, it misses the larger picture of how these activities affect each other. Leaders should put together a team to follow six battleground issues: liability for tech-related harms, privacy and data access, competition, infrastructure, public subsidies and other government resources, and preemption and overlapping authority.
The US midterm elections have yielded the Democrats a larger victory than expected. That gain is also a loss for big tech in general and AI in particular.
