Agreement Signed for One of the World's Largest Vehicle Inspection Programmes
The system will be modernized with a US$3 billion investment and 249 fixed stations, officials said, as TURKA takes over in 2027.
- TURKA signed a 20-year concession agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic and the Privatisation Administration under the Ministry of Treasury and Finance to operate vehicle inspection services starting August 15, 2027.
- The MOI Consortium won the 2025 tender to establish TURKA by combining leading vehicle inspection firms from the United States, Spain, Argentina, and the Republic, including MetG, Opus Group, Itversia Gestion, and Argentina-based VTV Norte.
- Operating across the Republic's 81 provinces, the system utilizes 249 fixed inspection stations, 103 mobile inspection stations, and 900 inspection lanes to manage 34.5 million registered vehicles and approximately 16 million annual inspections.
- The consortium will implement an investment programme of approximately US$3 billion to modernize the existing inspection Infrastructure and create a next-generation system, drawing on expertise from North America, Europe, and Latin America.
- Halis Ezer, chairman of TURKA, stated the system aims to meet international standards using AI-supported image processing, multi-camera Infrastructure, and laser scanning technologies to deliver faster, more transparent, and customer-focused services.
