Scientists discover microplastics in live human lungs for first time

Summary by Ground News
Hull scientists have found microplastics from the same type of plastic used for packaging and plastic bags in the deepest parts of the human lung. Researchers found 39 synthetic fibres in 11 of the 13 tissue samples tested. All plastic particles were inhalable by humans. Findings come weeks after the University of Hull published research showing high levels of microplastic in the air around the A63 in Hull.
