$132K Raised for Central Okanagan Kids in Need Through the Salvation Army
The second annual fundraiser surpassed its goal and has raised more than $236,000 over two years, according to Salvation Army Central Okanagan.
The Salvation Army Hope 4 Kids campaign raised more than $132,000 for Central Okanagan children to access camps, sports, counseling, and other life-changing opportunities.
This second annual fundraiser ran until Aug 31, surpassing its goal; across two years, the Hope 4 Kids campaign has raised more than $236,000 to invest in local youth.
Children gain new opportunities and confidence through community investment, said Officer and Pastor Rob Henson, citing horseback riding for one family during a difficult season as a concrete example.
Salvation Army Okanagan Central Jennifer Henson told Black Press Media that each donation represents hope and support for families facing financial challenges, enabling more children to participate and thrive.
The Salvation Army is gearing up for the Christmas Kettle and Gifts programs, continuing year-round support for children and families as winter approaches.
