In Croatia, one year after the traffic accident in which one person died, the indictment against the former Minister of Defense from the ruling HDZ, Mario Banožić, was confirmed, Croatian television portal N1 reports today. If the court finds him guilty of causing a traffic accident with a fatal outcome due to negligence, he faces up to eight years in prison.

Na Hrvaškem so leto dni po prometni nesreči, v kateri je umrl en človek, potrdili obtožnico proti nekdanjemu ministru za obrambo iz vladajoče HDZ Mariu Banožiću, danes poroča portal hrvaške televizije N1. Če ga bo sodišče spoznalo za krivega povzročitve prometne nesreče s smrtnim izidom iz malomarnosti, mu grozi do osem let zapora.

On Wednesday, the indictment panel of the Municipal Court in Vinkovci confirmed the indictment against former defense minister Marijo Banožić, accused of causing a traffic accident in November of last year in which 41-year-old Goran Šarić died.

Optužno vijeće Općinskog suda u Vinkovcima potvrdilo je u srijedu optužnicu protiv bivšeg ministra obrane Marija Banožića, optuženog zbog izazivanja prometne nesreće u studenome prošle godine u kojoj je poginuo 41-godišnji Goran Šarić.

After the accident, Banožić was transported with serious injuries to Vinkovac hospital, and then to KBC Osijek, from where he was released for home treatment.

Nakon nesreće Banožić je s teškim ozljedama prevezen u vinkovačku bolnicu, a potom u KBC Osijek, odakle je pušten na kućno liječenje.
