Police in the US have arrested two teenagers after a high-speed chase ended with a stolen vehicle crashing and catching fire. The car hit a kerb and struck a tree before bursting into flames in Colorado, after officers from Larimer County in the US state performed what is known as a precision immobilisation technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle.

Around 4:20 a.m. Thursday a Larimer County Sheriff's Office Deputy located a stolen vehicle at a gas station in Berthoud, according to a Friday release from the department. The 2015 silver Subaru Forrester had been stolen in Weld County during an armed carjacking, the release added.
