Whales can be picked up by cargo ships and sink to the bottom of the sea, often without the occupant on board noticing anything. A new study has mapped the areas where whales are most vulnerable – and presents possible solutions. "This is one of the biggest human-caused causes of death for whales, now that the whale catch is more or less gone," says Tom Arnbom, former marine expert at WWF.
