U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to halt strikes on Russian diesel, saying the attacks are causing a fuel shortage. Trump was asked by a reporter if he had spoken with Zelenskyy following his recent conversation with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Trump responded by calling on Zelenskyy to halt strikes against Russia.

President Donald Trump suggested on Sunday the United States could stay in Iran and "keep the ‌oil", drawing a parallel with a U.S. push to take control of a fifth of Venezuela's vast oil reserves. On a trip to Ireland for meetings and to watch golf, he reiterated that he still expected the Iran war to end this year, ⁠possibly just after midterm elections due in the United States in November.

No country should have lower interest rates than the U.S., President Donald Trump said on Sunday, days before the Federal Reserve's next policy meeting. Speaking to ‌reporters at the Irish Open golf tournament, Trump said he did not know whether Fed policy makers will raise interest rates at their meeting this week. But he argued that the U.S. "should be paying the lowest interest rate in the world" no matter what the Federal Reserve's data indicates about inflation and the economy.
