Today’s Blindspot Report focuses on the U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that recognized women's constitutional right to abortion. We’re looking at a new CBS poll that shows a majority of Americans view the Supreme Court ruling as “a step backward,” protests at a Fox News studio in New York, Israel’s decision to loosen abortion regulations in light of the SCOTUS ruling, and Split Headlines over protests at Arizona’s state capitol.

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., pledged to defy and protest the Supreme Court following its decision Friday overturning Roe v. Wade. "You ain't seen nothing yet," Waters said from the steps of the court. "Women are going to control their bodies no matter how they try and stop us. The hell with the Supreme Court. We will defy them. Women will be in control of their bodies. And if they think Black women are intimidated or afraid, they got another thought coming."

50% of voters said they disapprove of the high court's decision, while 40% approved. Men were more likely to approve of the ruling than women, though 56% of GOP women were on board. The Friday decision paves the way for about half of states to restrict or ban abortion.

Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams refused to answer what, if any, restrictions she would support on abortion is she were to become Governor of Georgia. Abrams used the Sunday interview to repeat her idealogy of socialist, state-controlled legislation built on her specific ideas. Abrams has also become a flashpoint in racial politics as a Black woman who the left often uses to parrot their ideologies.

IL Rep. Mary Miller calls Roe decision 'victory for white life,' spokesman later says she misspoke

U.S. Rep. Mary Miller of Illinois called the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade a victory for white life. Mary Miller's spokesman said the Illinois Republican had intended to say the decision was a victory for a right to life. Miller is running for reelection in the state's newly redrawn 15th Congressional District.

Israel loosens abortion regulations in response to Roe

Israel's Labor, Welfare and Health Committee authorized a proposal to relax the procedures for those seeking medical abortions. Reforms will scrap the requirement for women seeking abortions to physically appear before a committee. The amendment will allow for women to apply for the procedure online and to receive pharmacological abortions in more accessible places.
