Well-being of children in Germany is declining, according to UNICEF

According to a Unicef report, children in this country are now worse at school, more often overweight and mentally burdened. Especially in comparison to the direct neighbouring countries, Germany does not perform well in terms of child welfare.

According to UNICEF, living conditions for children in Germany have deteriorated, with declines in school skills and life satisfaction. The children's charity is calling, among other things, for increased investment in education.

Children in Germany are less satisfied and worse off in an international comparison. According to the Unicef report, the trend began before the pandemic.

In almost all OECD and EU countries, the conditions for children to grow up have deteriorated over the last five years, including in Germany.
