$5K Reward Offered for Wanted Virginia High School Football Coach

  • The U.S. Marshals Service on Monday asked for tips and is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of Travis Turner, Union High School head football coach who vanished on Nov. 20.
  • In a probe of child sex abuse images and solicitation, federal authorities joined the investigation as Virginia State Police announced last week arrest warrants for Turner on five counts of possession and five counts of solicitation.
  • VSP spokesperson Robin Lawson said, `VSP is still searching for Turner with the assistance of the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service` while family members told Adrian Collins they saw Turner walk into the woods with a firearm.
  • The team remains unbeaten amid the coaching vacancy and Turner's removal from the school website, winning 21-14 Saturday over Ridgeview High School to claim the Region 2D championship.
  • In the small town of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, authorities warn Turner may be armed and have declined to say if alleged victims relate to Union High School .
