US military reports a series of airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria
Over 5,700 ISIS detainees were transferred to Iraq for prosecution while U.S. forces conducted 10 airstrikes targeting more than 30 ISIS sites in Syria, CENTCOM said.
- The US military said it attacked over 30 Islamic State targets in Syria between February 3 and February 12, hitting weapons storage facilities and infrastructure, in response to the deaths of two US soldiers and an interpreter in an IS ambush in December.
- More than 50 IS terrorists have been killed or captured and over 100 IS targets hit during two months of targeted operations, according to the US Central Command.
- The Syrian Defense Ministry said government forces took control of the Al-Tanf military base in eastern Syria that was previously run by US troops.
