UN Security Council approves sending a Kenya-led force to Haiti to fight violent gangs
The United Nations Security Council has approved the deployment of an armed multinational force to Haiti in response to the country's widespread gang violence and political turmoil.
The mission will be led by Kenya, with 1,000 police officers spearheading the effort, and other countries such as the United States, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Antigua and Barbuda also offering support.
The deployment date has not been set, but the force aims to combat violent gangs and restore order in Haiti, which has been plagued by escalating violence and instability.
