UK Foreign Office Updates Travel Advice for Cyprus, Turkey and Maldives

On Sunday, March 8 the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office updated travel guidance urging British holidaymakers to reconsider trips to Cyprus, Turkey and the Maldives amid wider travel disruption.
As the conflict enters its ninth day, airspace closures and restrictions have grounded and rerouted commercial flights since the attacks began on Saturday.
Government charters and commercial flights have repatriated more than 32,000 British nationals since March 1, around 6,500 returned from the UAE, and the FCDO opened a Dubai booking portal on Sunday, March 8.
Airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and easyJet have changed timetables, while Emirates briefly suspended then resumed Dubai services and Dubai International Airport urged confirmed passengers not to travel otherwise.
The FCDO warns against all travel to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen, which could invalidate travel insurance, and advises monitoring airlines and registering before travel.
