Trial drug shows 'significant' results in slowing down Alzheimer's disease

An overseas study has shown that Lecanemab can reduce cognitive decline by 27 per cent compared to placebo. The drug works by removing the build-up of amyloid plaques in the brain which is one of the hallmarks of the disease. More than 1700 patients with mild cognitive impairment were enrolled in the study.
