Progressive Slovakia raised the issue of Beneš's decrees — specifically the part according to which it was possible, and according to today's practice it probably still is possible, to confiscate the property of owners listed on the lists from 1945–1946. I understand where the PS was going.
A few days ago, the chairman of the Progressive Slovakia party, Michal Šimečka, suggested that the injustice of the Beneš decrees should be recognized by the state. Although he retracted it almost immediately, his words caused a storm. Written by Attila Nizalowski.
Minister Tomáš Taraba demands a ban on opening Beneš decrees as a criminal offense. Progressive Slovakia, however, rejects their opening, wanting to resolve legal issues of ownership.
