DETROIT LAKES — For the 28th year, the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds will be held this weekend, May 15-17. Launched in 1997, the festival has been held each mid-May for all but two years, in 2003 when the Governor’s Fishing Opener was hosted in Detroit Lakes, and in 2020, due to the pandemic.
