Slovenia today handed over the presidency of the Barcelona Convention, which represents the international legal framework for the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and its coast, to Egypt in Cairo. At the end of its two-year presidency, it also received an assessment from the convention's expert body that the Slovenian coast is the best example of integrated coastal management in the Mediterranean.
