Indian stock markets closed almost flat on Friday after a highly volatile session as investors awaited the release of crucial macroeconomic data—industrial production and inflation rate—after the market hours. Snapping its two-day rally, the BSE Sensex slipped just 13.71 points (0.02%) to close at 85,706.67. It swung 392 points during the day. The NSE Nifty also fell 12.60 points (0.05%) to 26,202.
