On 25 March 2023, in a field of the Deux-Sèvres, the French state gave free rein to violence of an unprecedented magnitude.
Mediapart and Libération's joint revelations of 5 November 2025, based on more than eighty hours of images from the gendarmerie's pediment cameras, confirm the extent of the violence committed by the security forces during the demonstration in Sainte-Soline on 25 March 2023. These images attest to the strategy assumed, well identified by the LDH "to prevent access to the basin regardless of the human cost".
The brutality of the videos of police violence in Sainte-Soline stunned us, but did not surprise us.
