Report: Sahin Civaci will miss a month after Aqueduct accident

Sahin Civaci, winner of the Sovereign Award as last year's outstanding jockey in Canada, was injured in a race Thursday and will miss about one month of riding. Agent Mike Sellitto told Paulick Report that Civaci has hairline fractures in two vertebrae, not near the spinal cord. Civaci injures back, out at least a month

Jockey Sahin Civaci suffered a hairline fracture of the T4 and T5 vertebrae in his back as the result of being unseated by his mount, Despo's Dream, who stumbled at the break of Thursday's seventh race at Aqueduct.
