- Amid their longest streak since 2018, the Boston Red Sox surged in the latest MLB power rankings thanks to a season-high 10-game winning streak.
- After Alex Bregman and Masataka Yoshida returned from the injured list last week, MLB.com's Will Leitch wrote Wednesday that all hitting like crazy, all in their 20s, all at the perfect moment.
- During their 10-game surge, Garrett Crochet, Brayan Bello and Lucas Giolito led the pitching staff, and they outscored opponents by 46 runs during the streak.
- As they head to Chicago, and if the season ended now, they'd clinch the second AL Wild Card spot and their first postseason berth since 2021.
- With the July 31 trade deadline approaching, Craig Breslow is expected to make moves, and Boston faces its toughest remaining schedule in the American League.
