- The festival received a record 2,314 submissions from 127 countries and will screen more than 240 films from 81 countries, including 13 world premieres, four international premieres, and 46 Asian premieres.
- Departing from tradition, there will be no formal inauguration this year, and instead a grand parade in Panaji will feature leading production houses, state governments, and cultural troupes with their parade tableaux.
- IFFI's programme includes the first Artificial Intelligence Film Festival and Hackathon, Japan as Country of Focus this year, and over 50 women directors with films featured.
