- Commissioned in 1853 by Prince Albert, the Oriental Circlet Tiara contains 2,600 diamonds, originally featured opals replaced by rubies, and was worn by Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother.
- Completing the ensemble, the Princess of Wales wore Queen Elizabeth II's diamond earrings and a Royal Order sash, pairing them with a Prussian-blue sequined gown featuring a sheer cape, asymmetrical neckline, and white bow.
- The appearance reintroduced an heirloom not seen since 2005, nodded to Prince Albert's German ties honoring Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany, and added a fifth tiara in Kate's rotation.
- Amid fashion chatter, fans were surprised that the Princess of Wales chose Queen Victoria's Oriental Circlet instead of the Lover's Knot Tiara, having worn four previous tiaras this past year, and the couple shared a holiday portrait on the Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account.
