Robert C. Byrd Student Selected to Perform in Rose Parade
The float features over 300,000 flowers and animates Alaskan wildlife, marking Princess Cruises' biggest Alaska season with eight ships and 180 departures in 2026.
- On Jan. 1, 2026, Princess Cruises will present a larger-than-life floral replica of its new Star Princess 'setting sail' down Colorado Boulevard in the 137th Rose Parade presented by Honda in Pasadena.
- To promote the ship's debut, Princess Cruises uses the float to highlight Star Princess's October 2025 launch and its inaugural 2026 Alaska season in an expanded program of eight ships, 180 departures and 19 destinations.
- AES, an official Tournament float builder with over 35 years' experience, designed and built the float measuring approximately 55 feet long and 21 feet high, adorned with more than 300,000 flowers and natural materials.
- The parade attracts about 800,000 spectators and more than 28 million U.S. TV viewers, with Mark Leavens saying it is an honor to welcome Princess Cruises back.
- Star Princess will sail weekly seven-day Inside Passage cruises from May 3 through September 19, 2026, aligning with this year's Rose Parade theme, Lee added.
