Despite the fact that in December 2024 the popular reached an unusual pact with the left-wing parties not to abolish the regulations, the popular did not comply with their commitment only half a year later in exchange for the support of the extreme right to take forward the 2025 budgets.
This Tuesday, the first step toward repealing the Law on Democratic Memory and Recognition was taken. The combined votes of the Popular Party and Vox constitute a sufficient majority to advance the initiative.
