Appointed Minister of Commerce and SMEs in the second government of Sébastien Lecornu, Serge Papin was removed from the Auchan files for a possible conflict of interest, he who had joined the group's board of directors at the end of 2022. Serge Papin, former head of Système U, had been appointed to the board of directors of Auchan Retail International in 2022. Now Minister of Commerce, he will not be able to intervene on the files related to the Auchan group, according to a decree.
The former owner of System U will not be able to deal with the files relating to the Auchan Group or those of companies which he was still advising recently.
