- On Friday , Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana at Sri Krishna Mutt with about 1,00,000 participants.
- The visit included inaugurations and dedications, as Modi inaugurated the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa and dedicated the Kanaka Kavacha for the Kanakana Kindi.
- Arriving via Mangaluru International Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew to Udupi by helicopter and held a roadshow from Bannanje Narayana Guru Circle to Kalsanka, waving to crowds of devotees and onlookers.
- Following the inaugurations, Paryaya seer Sugunendra Tirtha felicitated Modi with the title `Bharata Bhagya Vidhaata` and a `raksha kavacha` bracelet, and Modi recited verses from the Srimad Bhagavad-Gita, 15th chapter with thousands of devotees.
- Sri Krishna Mutt, established over 800 years ago by Sri Madhvacharya, hosted cultural troupes during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first visit to the city after assuming office.
