PELARCO, JUL 17 – The Fiesta De La Virgen Del Carmen included concerts and a maritime procession attended by 20,000 people, honoring the patron saint of sailors and fishermen.
- On July 16, 2025, Pelarco's Fiesta De La Virgen Del Carmen attracted 20,000 attendees, marking a significant maritime celebration.
- Every July 16, coastal communities across Spain honor the Virgin of Carmen, the official patron of the Spanish Navy, in a tradition that began in Estepona in 1962 when six sailors acquired the statue.
- Concerts and other events run each evening until Sunday, accompanied by La Santa's procession at 6 pm on Sunday 20th July with Tinajo's band and choir.
- Some people won't swim until the Virgin enters the water, Isabel Moreno said, while streets and seaside fill with faith and memory for one night.
