- Simone Tata rose through Lakmé's leadership, joining the board in the early 1960s and later leading its 1996 sale to Hindustan Unilever Limited, using proceeds to launch Trent and Westside.
- Born in Geneva, Switzerland, Simone Tata married Naval H. Tata, joined the Tata group, and after retiring in 2006, kept a low public profile with her last appearance at Ratan Tata, former Tata Group chairman's funeral.
- Tata Sons said `May her soul rest in peace and God give us the strength to overcome this loss,` with last respects on December 6, 2025, at Cathedral of the Holy Name Church, Colaba.
- Proceeds from the Lakmé sale funded Trent and Westside, while her work made makeup more approachable and influenced how Indian women shopped and participated in society.
