No light at end of tunnel for abattoir operator

Summary by dispatchlive.co.za
The department of agriculture, rural development & land reform has left an Eastern Cape farmer high and dry after it cancelled plans to purchase a generator worth more than R700,000 to help him operate an abattoir during load-shedding. The Daily Dispatch reported last week that Sidumo Xashimba, the owner of Xashimba Abattoir in Komani, had to close down his abattoir built by the Eastern Cape government due to power cuts that had cost him dearly.
