- By chance, an employee found a locked Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility on a university campus containing files on controversial topics that attorneys now hold, Noem said.
- DHS technology experts inspected laptops and phones, and employees were brought in for questioning, polygraph tests and subsequent firings followed, Noem said.
- The Daily Beast flagged the clip and Newsweek contacted the Department of Homeland Security for comment, while Noem framed the matter as a so-called `deep state` issue.
