Natural history GCSE 'critical' to UK's ability to tackle climate and nature crises, environmentalists and government say

New GCSEs will teach students about the impact of climate change. Students will also learn about the importance of biodiversity in the UK. The new courses will be available from September 2025. They will be taught in schools across the UK, including in London and Edinburgh. The plans are being drawn up by the Department of Education and the Environment.
