In addition to the appeal lodged by the former mayor of Wittelsheim Yves Goepfert before the administrative court for irregularities during the election, the prefect of the Haut-Rhin also brought an action, with an application for annulment of the vote. The arguments put forward are of two kinds.
After the highly discussed retention of the four candidates in the second round of the municipal election, which saw the representative of the Raphaële Schober National Rally win, the former mayor of Wittelsheim raised irregularities which, according to him, must lead to the cancellation of the ballot.
