No Sign of 8ft Nutcracker Stolen Outside Bar by Thief Caught on Camera
A masked thief stole a £900, eight-foot Nutcracker statue named Nolan from outside Copper Blossom bar, damaging property and struggling to escape on an e-bike, police said.
- Around 1pm on Tuesday November 25, Police Scotland received a report that Nolan, an eight-foot, £900 Nutcracker, was taken from outside Copper Blossom on George Street.
- Copper Blossom's life-size seasonal displays draw crowds each Christmas, and Nelson, the remaining Nutcracker now stored indoors, has been moved into the foyer for safekeeping.
- CCTV footage shows the masked hooded suspect yanking the eight-foot, 13kg Nutcracker statue onto an e-bike, breaking a 350 table, and nearly falling as he rode away.
- `It has completely vanished.,` Paul Paxton said, reporting searches on online marketplaces and messages of sightings a few kilometres away as he prepares to meet police officers; Copper Blossom team said no further action if Nolan is returned.
- The venue had appealed that if Nolan is returned willingly, no action will be taken, while Police Scotland said inquiries are at an early stage and Paxton reported sightings around Edinburgh.
