The Turkish Ministry of the Interior announced on Wednesday that the mayor of Bayrampasa, Hasan Mutlu, of the opposition People's Republican Party (CHP), has been suspended from office after being arrested during the weekend as part of an anti-corruption operation against this municipality, located in Istanbul.
