Minister Justifies Portugal Low Wages

The Minister of Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, has justified the low average wage in Portugal compared to the European Union, at €24,818 in 2024, by the fact that the Portuguese economy is “less advanced” than the other EU economies.
