Man charged in East Grand Forks shooting pleads not guilty

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. – Marko Ruot pleaded not guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon charges in a shooting in East Grand Forks. The 44-year-old Grand Forks man has been accused of firing shots inside an apartment in May 2024. He claimed he shot the gun in the air and not at anyone. Ruot could spend up to seven years in prison if convicted. His next court appearance is set for October 21st.
