Man charged with assisting offender over Jewish ambulance arson
The fire caused about £1m of damage and affected nearby flats and a synagogue, police said.
On Monday, British authorities charged 18-year-old Subhan Ahmed with "assisting an offender" in connection with the March 23 arson attack on four Jewish Community Ambulance service vehicles in Golders Green, north London.
Four other men—Hamza Iqbal, 20; Rehan Khan, 19; Judex Atshatski, 18; and a 17-year-old who cannot be named—were previously charged with arson for the same March incident.
Counter Terrorism Policing London is investigating the fire as a hate crime, with all five suspects scheduled for trial in January 2027.
Ahmed has been bailed and must appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on June 16, while four co-defendants were remanded in custody following an April 24 court appearance.
The attack fits a pattern of recent antisemitic incidents across London and Europe, including arson targeting synagogues and alleged plots against Jewish sites in France and The Netherlands.
