Eleven Charged After £13.8m of Cannabis Seized at Airport
More than 500 kilograms of cannabis worth £13.8 million were seized by Border Force at Birmingham Airport in a smuggling ring linked to Thailand and Paris, police said.
- Eleven people, including three from Greater Manchester, were charged in connection with attempting to smuggle more than 500 kilos of cannabis worth around £13.8 million into the UK.
- The group had travelled to the UK from Thailand via Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport when Border Force found the drugs packed into 22 suitcases at Birmingham Airport.
- Nine appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday where they were bailed until their next appearance at Birmingham Crown Court on November 28 2025.
