Machu Picchu was built decades earlier than thought

Summary by Ground News
A new study published in Antiquity has concluded that the world-renowned Machu Picchu site in Peru was in use more than 20 years earlier than previously thought. Most history books state that the ruins were built by Inca ruler Pachacuti in the mid-1400s. New dating technology from 26 skeletons found in cave burials which had been excavated back in 1912 has pushed back the construction date by 20 years.
