The diamond and emerald-studded crown of Empress Eugénie, which was found damaged outside the Louvre after apparently being dropped during the Oct. 19 robbery, will be restored as a symbol of “renaissance,” the museum’s director Laurence des Cars said Friday.
Just under three weeks after the Crown Jewel theft in the Louvre in Paris, the museum's management has announced increased security measures. Museum director Laurence des Cars said on French radio that a security plan that has been in place for a long time will be implemented immediately.
